Thing #12
Library Thing can be a fun site if I really thought I might use it. I'm not really big on keeping books after I read them. I think one use would be for display purposes for libraries. You would be able to keep track of books that were displayed in the library at different times. Keeping track of books I have read would be interesting, however I usually remember which books I've already read. I would like to try using it on my phone sometime to check from a bookstore. I can think of a lot of other technology tools that I would use and have more fun using them. I created a Library Thing account about a year ago and found that I haven't gone back to it since.

Thing #11
Posting on technology. Where to start, where to stop. Everyday I learn something new about technology. I have really enjoyed learning the 23 things, however I wonder how much I should be using and what will be obsolete soon. Flickr is a fun tool to use to get my pictures all in one place but what happens when Flickr is gone. New technologies take the place of older ones everyday. I know that you are supposed to back up everything you do and not rely on one thing working all the time. Then I still have the same question. First I backed up to floppy disc, they are gone now. Then I backup to CD or DVD. Then I'm told to backup to flash drives. What is the new technology. Should I be backing up to online storage. What happens when that is gone. I have so many questions about the safety of where you store your files. I know that if there was a fire in my home all of my pictures would be gone anyway. I know I think way too much.
So I will post about fun things with technology that I have done so far. RSS feeds, WOW do I really like them. I am learning to get rid of the feeds that I don't really read and only keep the ones that have some value to me. When I first started with RSS every site I went to I would look for the little symbol that told me I could add this to my reader, you guessed it. click, click click another feed. So then I opened my reader up and 1,000 or more feeds, (way to many). So I asked myself, Is this important do you need to know this. If I answered no I would just get rid of it. Now I'm down to a little bit more manageable tool. Just as it was meant to be.
Back to flickr, I use Picasa and already have several thousand pictures loaded on Picasa, however I find I like flickr a little better. I wish I could find a way to transfer my pictures from Picasa to flickr. If not I will just continue to use Picasa. Famliy and friends are having fun looking at our Disneyland pictures and I now find myself taking more pictures then ever before. I really like the tagging feature so I can find pictures quickly and even if all of the pictures I want are in different folders I can still locate them by using tags. I would also like to link my Picasa pictures to my blog so I can get to everything from one site. I know that I should be able to I just need to look into it a little more. More technology for me to learn.
Well I think I carried on long enough. Like I said in the begining of this post. Where to start and where to stop. I really hope I don't have to stop and that with all of the new changes happening in technology I will not stop learning after the 23 things and continue until I learn as much as possible about these tools. I know that I keep saying learning about technology, however I really think this is the funnest time I have ever had learning something new.

thing #8
Flickr is pretty cool. I have been using Google Picasa. Yes, I am a google fan. I also have a flickr account I just didn't know it had so many uses. I decided to see how many poodle pics I could find. There were a lot of them. I really liked this one. It shows how creative someone can be with a little imagination. I really don't think I would be able to look at a cloud and see a poddle. I changed my original Thing 8 post because I found out I linked my picture wrong. So here is try #2.
